Elaina Fowler is running in the Texas primary to be the Democratic candidate for Texas House District 47. HD 47 lies to the west of Austin, in central Texas.
Elaina is currently serving as State Director for Texas Retirees with the AFSCME. In the past, she has worked as chief of staff for a representative in the Texas House, a policy aide to a former Austin Mayor Pro-Tem and on the Texas Commission for Children.
She has received endorsements from many organizations in the Austin area, including Black Austin Democrats, National Woman’s Political Caucus of Greater Austin, the Employees Union of the Austin Independent School District, Stonewall Democrats of Austin, local labor unions and local Democratic Party groups, including Liberal Austin Democrats.
The Democratic primary for HD 47 is crowded. Of the several candidates, Elaina is experienced and is the only one that offers concrete proposals to support public schools, protecting our water resources (a critical issue in HD 47), promoting the basic right of health care, and standing up for the rights and dignity of every Texan.
